Note

The winning party in a defended matter for a debt over £10,000 can recover the majority of their solicitors’ costs and court fees from the Defendant.

In all cases Solicitors’ fixed costs* and court fees can be recoverable from the debtor upon full payment to the creditor. They are added to the debt upon the issue of the Claim Form. The above rates apply to standard debt collection work as listed above only. If a matter becomes non-standard or defended, further work is conducted at an hourly rate of £180 plus VAT and further court fees will be payable

*Fixed costs are recoverable from the defendant in simple money claims
